Nitrate Loss to Goundwater Workshop September 19th
By CPTPComm | 12:28 PM, 08/05/2019
Join as we tour a working farm and learn from researchers studying nitrogen use and losses to groundwater. Led by UW-Extension groundwater expert, Kevin Masarik, attendees will better understand quantity and timing of nitrate leaching losses under agricultural land uses and participate in conversations addressing groundwater challenges.
- Recognize the quantity and timing of nitrate leaching losses under agricultural land uses.
- Understand the function, purpose, and terminology associated with field-based groundwater monitoring equipment such as lysimeters and monitoring wells.
- Become familiar with current strategies and instrumentation used to quantify nitrogen uptake and leaching losses of agricultural systems.
