New Map Shows Agriculture Land Use in Wisconsin

A new web map showing generalized agriculture land use in Wisconsin is now available. It was recently developed by Dan McFarlane, a GIS mapping specialist with the Center for Land Use Education (CLUE at UWSP) using USDA satellite cropland data layers from 2009-2014. Since there are likely some errors based on timing, spatial resolution, etc., Dan does not recommend using it at a site specific or parcel level. However, it does provide a good perspective by panning and zooming the map on a regional or county level. Clicking within a county boundary will also show summary statistics and a pie chart for Ag land use in that county.
