The theme of this year’s conference “Cover Crops and Agricultural Resiliency” features a mix of general sessions and bus tours highlighting successful cover crop practitioners in southeast Wisconsin in a variety of cropping systems.

Tour A: Cover Crops in Organic Systems: Tour will feature the cover crop research of MFAI including organic no-till, new species screening, organic reinvigoration and quackgrass control as well as the successful cover crop practices at Michael Fields Agricultural Institute. Expert on site: Jim Stute.
Tour B: Cover Crops in No-till and Strip-till Systems: Tour will feature successful practices on rolling, highly erodible soils in the Palmyra area including aerial application in corn and soybean, drilling in standing corn and cocktail mixes after wheat. Experts on site: Tom Novak, Tom Burlingham, Nick Kau.
Tour C: Cover Crops in Fresh Market Production: Tour will feature successful cover crop applications in organic vegetable production at Turtle Creek Gardens, Delavan. Experts on site: Janet Gamble, Steve Tomlins
