Farm Enterprise Budget Training Scheduled for January
By CPTPComm | 3:17 PM, 11/29/2018
Join Wisconsin Land and Water in Stevens Point on Tuesday, January 29, (snow date is Wednesday, January 30) for a free Farm Enterprise Budgeting Training including lunch!
A simple enterprise budget is extremely beneficial to help producers assess the financial viability of their cropping systems. The goal is not to perform an all-inclusive financial plan for the farm; it is to help them make basic, simple decisions regarding their various farm enterprises. If we can show them the numbers and how conservation can pay, it seems to go a long way towards us "selling" conservation. We will run through various scenarios and practice running an enterprise budget so that you are proficient enough to take it back to your work area. The focus will be on a using a corn budget and grassfed beef budget. Please see the attached draft agenda for more information. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be offered.
Register by Tuesday, January 22, at http://events.constantcontact.com/register/event?llr=7pa8l6qab&oeidk=a07efvtjnh5e4e47010. Please bring a laptop with Microsoft Excel loaded to practice “running the numbers” and three-four farm examples for practice purposes.
