Course Description:

Soil Health Kit

This UW-Extension training provides attendees with a soil health testing kit and overviews how to use the kit o compare soil health in different fields in their farming operation. The kit includes a soil compaction probe, soil infiltration test, soil aggregation stability (slake) test, digital soil thermometer and resources to help you understand how to improve soil health on your farm.

Pre-registration is required by July 30. The cost for this training and kit is normally $125, however, additional grant funding is reducing the cost to $30 for those who farm or work in or around the target watersheds. Participants who document usage of the kit on at least five farms within 9 months can receive a or $75 credit to the advanced soil health training. Registration priority will be given to those farming/managing land in and around 9-Key element watersheds.
