NEPA/Completing the Environmental Evaluation - CPA 52 - Springfield, Illinois, 07/16/13
Course Description:
This blended intermediate-level course begins with an online component and concludes with a one day, in-person workshop with lunch provided.
Students will focus on the NRCS environmental evaluation process to assess both the existing resource condition of a site and the impacts of the proposed changes from implementing a conservation plan, with the goal of attaining an improvement to the resource condition.
We’ll identify resource concerns and tackle them using NRCS quality criteria, and assess both the positive and negative impacts of conservation practices.
Finally, we’ll go through the process of evaluating the site for special environmental concerns such as T&E species, cultural resources, and scenic rivers as well as other concerns subject to specific Federal laws, Executive Orders or policies.
