Course Description:

This introductory course, also referred to as the Wisconsin Grazing School, teaches producers, educators and agency staff the basics of managing intensive grazing, with a hands-on approach. This two-day, workshop will provide opportunities for in-depth discussions, field exercises, and reference materials that cover both livestock and agronomic topics related to grazing. Topics include forage plant growth, species selection, recovery periods, animal health and nutrition, and pasture layout and design.
