USDA-Lower Fox Demonstration Farms Network Field Day and Open House

Course Description:

Join the people behind the Lower Fox Demonstration Farms Network on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, to learn about the great conservation practices being used to improve both soil health and the water quality in northeast Wisconsin. Whether you can spend the day with us or simply join our partners in conservation for lunch and good conversation, we hope to see you out on the farms!

8:30: Meet at Tinedale Farms and travel to Brickstead Dairy
9:00-10:00: Brickstead Dairy. View Cover crop plots with possible spring forage tonnage, monitoring station
10:00-10:30: Travel to Collins Dairy
10:30-11:30: Overview of Raising Heifers on Managed Rotational Pasture, Pasture layouts, and Management
11:30-12:00: Travel back to Tinedale Farms
12:00-1:30: Lunch, Displays, Speakers, Equipment at Tinedale Farms (lunch provided)
1:30-3:30: Tinedale Farms Red Clover Cover Crops and other Various Inter-seeding Approaches
