Course Description:

NRCS is offering a condensed training for prescribed grazing planning certification. The training will be equivalent to the three courses required for prescribed grazing certification (Introduction, Grazing Plan Development, and Facilities Design) all in two days. You will learn the basic principles of pasture management and livestock production.

You will become familiar with the Prescribed/Managed Grazing Standard in order to assist a producer in developing and implementing a Prescribed Grazing Plan. Topics to be discussed include: conducting a pasture survey, identifying resource problems and concerns, designing alternative stocking methods and completing an animal/forage balance, paddock design, and grazing plan format.
