Nutrient Management: Feed Management - Lancaster, Wisconsin, 02/28/06

Course Description:

This advanced-level course examines the principle of Feed Management, closely aligning the nutrients in feed with what livestock need. Eliminating overfeeding of nutrients, in particular phosphorus and nitrogen, will result in a reduced concentration of manure, ultimately making nutrient management plan implementation easier. Students will need a basic understanding of ration formulation and livestock nutrient needs before taking this course, Because of significant differences in animal nutrition needs, each section of this course will focus on a particular type(s) of livestock.
