Managed Grazing Certification

Course Description:

NRCS is conducting a two-day Managed Grazing Certification training where participants will learn the basic principles of pasture management and livestock production. Participants will become familiar with the Prescribed/Managed Grazing Standard in order to assist a producer in developing and implementing a Prescribed Grazing Plan. Topics which will be discussed include: conducting a pasture survey, identifying resource problems and concerns, designing alternative stocking methods and completing an animal/forage balance, paddock design, and grazing plan format.
