CORE Conservation Level 1 , WI, 04/27/12
Core Conservation Level 1 is a blended online/in-person introductory course for people beginning a career in soil, water and resource conservation. Content includes a brief history of conservation in Wisconsin, an introduction to the economic significance of agriculture, connections to conservation partner agencies, guidance for preparing a conservation plan and discussion of the human aspects of making decisions within a conservation framework. The internet-based curriculum has education material in a variety of formats including narrated and traditional Power Point presentations, videos, reading assignments, links to relevant webpages and role playing scenarios. Students will have the opportunity to interact with each other and the course instructor during planned teleconferences. A set field training day will be held at the University of Wisconsin Arlington Research Station.
